In Mexico, Julián Figueroa was a well-known lyricist and singer. His discography included “Julián Figueroa y su banda.” He was also a well-known actor recognized for his roles in telenovelas. His most recent appearance on television was in “Mi Camino es amarte.”
The Mexican actors’ organization ANDI Mexico broke the news of Figueroa’s passing first. He was only 27 at the time.
In an English tweet, the National Association of Performers announced the passing of one of its members, Julián Figueroa. A number of albums by the musician and actor have been released, one of which is titled “Julián Figueroa y su banda.” His family and friends are given our deepest condolences.
Andi said nothing about the manner of dying. The Mexican actress Maribel Guardia, who is Figueroa’s mother, posted the sad news of her son’s passing on Instagram the next day.
The post from Guardia was translated from Spanish to English by Billboard. The phrase “It saddens me to announce the passing of my beloved son Julián Figueroa, who regrettably preceded us in parting from this level,” is translated as “It saddens me to announce the death of my beloved son Julián Figueroa.”
Then Guardia went on to relate how her son died. Her son was at home in his room while she went at the movie. When they realized he wasn’t breathing, they “called 911, and when the ambulance and police arrived, they found him already lifeless, with no traces of violence.”
Guardia disclosed the cause of death. In her remarks, she cited the medical report, which said that “he died of an acute myocardial infarction and ventricular fibrillation.”
In Mexico, Figueroa’s father, Joan Sebastian, was a well-known singer. He perished in 2015. The day before he died, Figueroa wrote his farewell Instagram post, in which he discussed the death of his father and how much he would be missed.
The song was translated to English by Billboard from Spanish. It says in part, “The fans cry LONG LIVE THE PEOPLE’S POET, but I don’t give a damn, I only love my dad.”
His wife Ime Garza, son José Julián, age 6, and his four siblings José Manuel, Juliana, Zarelea, Marcelina, and Joana are the only people left to care for Figueroa.
May you live in harmony.
