With heavy hearts…Ozzy Osbourne, tragic news

Long known for prioritizing his music career, Ozzy Osbourne now needs to prioritize his health and well-being.

Recent health setbacks for the Black Sabbath singer include a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis and numerous surgeries as a result of a horrible accident.

Although he has previously vowed to keep doing what he loves most—playing shows—he gave fans who were hoping to see him at the Power Trip Festival, a rock concert extravaganza organized by Coachella founders Goldenvoice and featuring legendary rock bands like Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, and others, a difficult update on Monday.

Ozzy announced on Monday, July 10, that he had to make the “painful” decision to not perform, despite the concert being scheduled for October 6–8.

“As painful as this is, I’ve had to make the decision to bow out of performing on Power Trip in October,” he wrote in a message on Instagram.

I immediately accepted the invitation to perform this play when it was made, he remarked. “My initial intention was to make a stage comeback in the summer of 2024.”

Although he said he was excited to finally return to the stage, he said: “Unfortunately, my body is telling me that I’m just not ready yet and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-assed.”

He promised the crowd, “I can assure that you will not be let down,” before announcing the band that would take my place on Power Trip. They are close friends of my personally.

He then said: “Above all, I want to thank my fans, my band, and my crew for their unconditional loyalty and continual support.” He ended by saying: “I love you all and I’ll see you soon.”

His dedicated fans expressed their sympathy and support for him right once, writing in the post’s comments section: “Everyone loves you dear friend. There’s no need to apologize, sir; you’ve given me a lot of pleasure over the years; just take care of yourself. Ozz, look for yourself and put your health first. We comprehend. Take all the time you require. Another admirer chimed in, “Please don’t apologize Ozzy, get well.”

Ozzy made his commitment to performing live once more known to People last year during the promotion of his 13th solo studio album, Patient 9.

He said at the time, “I am determined to get back on stage even if I have to be nailed to a board and wheeled on,” and “Survival is my legacy.”

He claimed that his past medical issues had “really messed me up,” adding, “I’ve never been this laid up… He declared that he would not be retiring anytime soon, saying, “I can’t understand my luck.”

“I belong there,” you declare. He proclaimed, “My relationship with my audience is the greatest love affair of my life.”
